Browser FAQ

If some of the features of IPVision Advantage do not appear to work correctly for you it may be an issue with the particular settings in your browser.  The known settings issues are discussed below.  If you encounter a problem not covered by these FAQ topics please Contact Service for further assistance.

General Issues
  • "Nothing Happens".   Problem Description: I "left click" or "right click" on a menu item and nothing happens.  Possible Reason/Suggested Solution: Many of the features of IPVision Advantage open new browser windows.  Check to see if your Pop-Up Blocker is turned OFF.
  • "I Can't Copy".   Problem Description: I want to copy text from a field in an IPVision list and paste it into a spreadsheet or enter it into the "Add Notes" field for a list. How do I do that?  Solution:
    1) Hold down the ALT key
    2) Use your Cursor to highlight the text you want to copy
    3) Use the Browser's Edit->Copy function
    4) Paste using normal paste methods- e.g. place the cursor where you want to paste and hold down the Ctrl key and press V
Internet Explorer
  • Export to Excel.    Problem Description: A list or analysis will not Export to Excel.
  • USPTO PAIR Access.   Problem Description: In IE8 I can't access the USPTO Patent Application Information Retrieval (PAIR) website due to browser settings in IE8.
Firefox
  • Map Viewer Window.  Problem Description: When I move my cursor in the Map Viewer Window to navigate around a map the action is "jerky" or doesn't move easily.  This is a known problem with Firefox and we don't have a solution for it at this time.
Google Chrome

There are no reported issues with Google Chrome at this time.
